Joint Venture Projects - Although Bissell Development has been well known for Ballantyne Corporate Park since the 1999's, that is not the only area of development where the company has been active. At the Airport Center office complex off Billy Graham Parkway, Bissell Development completed two new buildings in 2008. And in Lancaster, South Carolina at "Cornerstone" near the popular Sun City Carolina Lakes community, a new medical office building was built and is scheduled to open May 2009. Bissell Land Services and Bissell Development worked together to make enhancements and improvements to the award winning Golf Club at Ballantyne by rebuilding and reshaping several holes, improving all creeks, and installing all new tee boxes and sand bunkers during the summer. For corporate guests we constructed a new 2,000 square feet Outing Pavilion that includes a bar, a 60” flat-screen television and plenty of entertaining space. The Golf Course has been very pleased with the response from golfers since the facility reopened September 2008.
Enhancements and Improvements to the Dana Rader Golf School honored its 10-year association with The Bissell Family of Companies. In addition to upgrades to the indoor teaching areas, new hitting bay doors were constructed for inclement weather use and another video station was placed within the hitting bays.
The Courtyard by Marriott in Ballantyne received the Gold Award for guest satisfaction for the third consecutive time, and is ranked among the top 5% of Courtyard’s 730 hotels. The entire hotel was renovated within the past tweleve months.
Staybridge Suites in Ballantyne was awarded the 2008 Torchbearer Award this year, the highest award given out by InterContinental Hotels Group, making it the #1 brand for the highest levels of excellence in all aspects of operations, from quality to guest satisfaction. They also were awarded the #1 property for having the highest guest satisfaction scores from the 130 Staybridge Suites nationwide. The hotel just completed a full renovation for all guest rooms and common areas.
For The People - "Caldwell Lane" - Bissell Development and Bissell Land Management planned and built a 2,000 foot
limestone Fitness Trail complete with 20 Fit-Trail exercise stations that target flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning, muscle strength and muscle endurance . Located off Ballantyne Corporate Place in the wooded area between Ballantyne Two and Ballantyne Three (SPX), the Fitness Trail was made from crushed recycled concrete material topped with limestone which is easy on the body joints. The material also absorbs water, which lessens standing water after rain.
