Bissell Announces Brigham Building

Bissell has started construction of a speculative 287,507-square-foot office building in Ballantyne Corporate Park. The Brigham Building, named in memory of Dr. Craig Brigham, will be located at 11625 North Community House Road (adjacent to the Calhoun Building) and overlook the 12th hole of The Golf Club at Ballantyne. The ten-story project is set for completion by November 2016. 

Built to LEED® Gold specifications, The Brigham Building will feature a two-story lobby, glass exterior curtain walls and provide free structured parking. The building will offer a commanding corporate presence with scenic views and I-485 exposure, as well as balconies on the third and tenth floors. 

President and CEO of Bissell Ned Curran spoke to Scott Wickersham with WSOC-TV about having the new building ready for corporations. News about the Brigham Building was also featured in The Charlotte Observer and Charlotte Business Journal



Helipad Groundbreaking Ceremony

Bissell had an informal groundbreaking to relocate the Helipad on August 26 to Morrison Y Field #7 on Ballantyne Corporate Place.



CPCC Ballantyne Center Hosts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC)'s Ballantyne Center officially opened its doors with a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 26. President of CPCC, Dr. Zeiss, welcomed the attendees, followed by remarks from Benton Bragg, CPCC Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, Chair of the Finance & Facilities Committee, Trevor Fuller, Chair, Mecklenburg County Commission, Smoky Bissell, Chairman, The Bissell Companies and Mack McDonald, Associate Dean, Business & Industry, Center Manager.

Dr. Zeiss expressed gratitude for Mr. Bissell's collaboration to bring CPCC to Ballantyne Corporate Park. "CPCC is the engine behind workforce development in Mecklenburg County," said Smoky Bissell. CPCC is excited to be part of the Ballantyne Corporate Park community and is welcomed with much support. 

The Ballantyne Center resides in the Gibson Building and is convenient for tenants and area residents seeking career and professional opportunities through Corporate and Continuing Education courses. Click here for more info about the ceremony and classes offered at the center.

Don Dracon Joins RCS Corporation

RCS Corporation would like to announce that Mr. Don Dracon has joined the Company as Vice President. Don will lead company-wide business development and sales efforts, including client relationships and strategic partnerships. 

Prior to joining RCS, Don spent 14 years with AECOM and was the Vice President of Business Development for their commercial nuclear business. More recently, he was the Chief Commercial Officer for a Houston based, metal fabrication company, servicing the oil and gas and commercial power industries. 

Don is a Marine Engineering graduate of the United States Naval Academy and has an MBA from Rutgers University.

Improvements Coming to Ballantyne Business Center

Renovations are underway at Ballantyne Business Center. Enhancements will include an upgraded refurbished space complete with new furniture in its conference center, an updated reception area, and modernized kitchen and networking space. These improvements will allow Ballantyne Business Center to continue providing the absolute best service for your office and meeting room needs. The renovations are expected to be completed by late September. The conference center (not board rooms) will be closed for renovations August 3 through tentatively September 18.
