Cans for a Cause Food Drive

Start collecting canned goods for the seventh annual food drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
Collection bins will be distributed in Ballantyne Corporate Park building lobbies by noon on April 15 and will remain in the lobbies until noon on April 24. With a new virtual donation option also available, contributions can be made with a click of your mouse. Donate online using the code “BCP2015”.

YMCA Hosts Successful National Start Walking Day Event in BCP

YMCA trainers led participants in a warm-up at the Brixham Tent, followed by a 30-minute walk through Ballantyne Corporate Park.

Nectar Flower Truck--Tomorrow in BCP

Nectar Flower Truck will visit Ballantyne Corporate Park to provide convenient shopping for tenants around select holidays in 2015.

It will be at  at the Brixham Tent tomorrow. Stop by between noon and 1:30 p.m. to purchase a beautiful, pre-made “bouquet of the day.” Arrangements may also  be pre-ordered here.

Earth Day

Ballantyne Corporate Park's sixth annual Earth Day event will be held on Thursday, April 23 at the Brixham Tent. 

Enter “green” giveaways, meet local businesses and learn about their sustainable efforts and donate canned goods to Cans for a Cause. Shred your secure documents for free with Better Business Bureau, CMPD and Shred-it from 8:00am to 1:30pm. Also, bring your electronic materials and eCycle Secure will properly dispose of the items for free and prevent hazardous materials from entering our landfills.

The 11th Annual Run! Ballantyne 5k/8k race and 1 mile fun run presented by Bissell and the Morrison & Ballantyne Village YMCAs will be held on Saturday, May 2 in Ballantyne Corporate Park.  
Corporate Teams are a great way to encourage team building and healthy lifestyles within your company. Represent your company by joining your co-workers and competing in the 8k, 5k, Einstein Bros. Bagels 1-mile Fun Run, or volunteering. Online registration closes April 30 at 11:59 p.m.

Tenant Golf Night

Bissell invites Ballantyne Corporate Park tenants to play the course at  The Golf Club at Ballantyne on Wednesdays from April 15 through September 2* for only $25 after 4:45 p.m.

On April 15 and 22, play for half price with a donation of five cans to the BCP Cans for a Cause Food Drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Drop off donations at check-in at the Pro Shop. 

Tee times are required. Please call The Golf Club at 704-248-4383 to make your reservation. 

Tenants may bring a friend. The $25.00 fee includes a non-alcoholic drink at the Pavilion. Rental clubs (Nike or Titleist) are available for $15, including six golf balls.

American Diabetes Association Charlotte Tour de Cure

Take the ride of your life at the American Diabetes Association’s Charlotte Tour de Cure. The 2015 Charlotte Tour de Cure cycling event offers routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. The course is fully supported and includes food and beverages, well-stocked rest stops, support and gear vehicles, bike mechanics, traffic control, medical support and entertainment.
The 2014 Charlotte Tour de Cure raised more than $128,000, with 350 cyclists riding in south Charlotte.  

Help the American Diabetes Association grow the impact we are making in the community– with more than 1.5 million people affected with diabetes in the Carolinas - and sign up today.

CSI Sponsors 40 Children Through Kids First

The Computer Services, Inc. Regulatory Compliance Division sponsored disadvantaged children through Kids First by making baskets for children and purchasing Easter dinner for their families for the fifth consecutive year. 

CSI sponsored 15 children in 2011, 25 in 2012, 30 in 2013 and 36 in 2014. This year, we sponsored 40 children and purchased Easter dinner for 20 families. 

Kids First is a 501C3 charity that does not accept funding government funding that made life easier and happier for homeless and underprivileged children for 20 years.

YMCA to Build in Ballantyne Corporate Park

The YMCA of Greater Charlotte plans to build a 24,000-square-foot facility in Ballantyne Corporate Park that will be located at the corner of Brixham Hill Avenue and Ballantyne Corporate Place. It will be named Sara’s Y, after Sara Harris Bissell, the late wife of Ballantyne developer Smoky Bissell.

Aloft Charlotte Ballantyne won the Guest Loyalty of the Year Award for the Mid Atlantic Region at the 2015 Starwood Specialty Select Brands Regional Market Summit last week.Guest Loyalty is comprised of a Guests' Overall Satisfaction, Likelihood to Recommend and Likelihood to Return. For this conference, Aloft Charlotte Ballantyne was compared with other Specialty Select Hotels in the Region including other Alofts, Element Hotels, and Four Points. 

King of Pops Back in Ballantyne

King of Pops will be serving ecologically responsible, fresh and all-natural popsicles from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Dalton Putting Green every Tuesday, across from the Everett building every Wednesday and in the parking lot beside the Cullman building every Friday this summer. 

Popsicles are $2.50 each and will come in a variety of seasonal flavors that will rotate every week. Some popular seasonal flavors include: Chocolate Sea Salt, Banana Caramel, Fresh NC Peach, Raspberry Lime, Coconut Banana Orange, Blackberry Ginger Lemon, Cucumber Mint and Grapefruit Hibiscus. 

Wingate University Names Rhett Brown as New President

Wingate University didn’t have to go far to find its 10th president. The University named Dr. Rhett Brown, Wingate’s current Vice President for Student Life and Enrollment Services, as its next leader. Brown is a two-time graduate of Wingate. He takes over for Dr. Jerry E. McGee who’s retiring in May after a record 23 years at the school. McGee is the longest-service college president in North Carolina. 

Brown was selected after a nationwide search with more than 200 candidates being considered for the position. He will take over as president on June 1, 2015. This was announced at a news conference on March 18 at Wingate’s Ballantyne campus.

Most Successful Blood Drive Since 2012

Thank you for helping save lives by donating blood at the American Red Cross blood drive in Ballantyne Corporate Park!  


The American Red Cross collected 32 successful blood donations at Aloft Charlotte Ballantyne on March 19, making this the most successful drive hosted in the Park since 2012. We thank all donors for taking the time to give and making a difference in the lives of others.

Bissell hosted Living Your Legacy Now, a free lunch & learn for tenants on March 18. Sharon Lachow-Blumberg, founder of I’m Not Done Yet, an HR and organizational strategy firm, shared information on how to make an impact to inspire others and achieve goals. 

People can manage their legacy by simply being present and mindful. Other tips for how to create the legacy you desire include know your strengths; identify your intention; take action; mentor or advocate; inspire yourself and others; embrace change; understand the business of your business; be appreciate of differences; and be nice. It’s important to remember that you’re in charge of your reputation and the legacy you want to leave.
